Manta Dive

Manta Dive has positioned itself as one of the most environmentally responsible dive operations on Gili Trawangan, combining excellent diving instruction with genuine marine conservation efforts. As a PADI 5-Star Dive Resort, they offer the full range of courses from Discover Scuba Diving (IDR 850,000) through to Divemaster internships. What sets Manta apart is their commitment to ocean conservation: they run the Gili Eco Trust's marine programs, organize weekly reef cleanups, maintain coral nurseries, and contribute to the biorock reef restoration projects visible at several dive sites around the Gilis. Their staff are passionate marine biologists as much as dive instructors. The dive sites around the Gilis include encounters with turtles (almost guaranteed), reef sharks, seahorses, frogfish, and octopus. Fun dives cost IDR 550,000 for two dives; the PADI Open Water course is IDR 5,500,000 including all materials. Equipment is well-maintained and regularly serviced. The dive center also has a swimming pool for confined water sessions. Their attached hotel offers convenient dive-and-stay packages. Nitrox is available for certified divers. They also run snorkeling trips for non-divers. Located on the main strip near the harbor, they are easy to find. Book courses at least 2-3 days in advance during peak season.
