7Seas Dive is Gili Air's leading dive operation — a PADI 5-Star Dive Center that has earned its reputation through consistently excellent instruction, well-maintained equipment, and a genuine commitment to marine conservation that goes beyond marketing. Founded in 2007 by a German-Indonesian couple, the dive center offers the full range of PADI courses from Discover Scuba through to Divemaster, along with daily fun dives at the best sites around the Gili archipelago. What sets 7Seas apart from the numerous other dive shops in the Gilis is their approach to group sizes (maximum 4 divers per instructor on fun dives, 2 students per instructor on courses), their equipment quality (Aqualung regulators and BCDs replaced every 2 years), and their conservation program. The Biorock Project — an artificial reef restoration initiative that 7Seas operates — uses low-voltage electrical current through metal structures to accelerate coral growth, and has successfully rehabilitated large sections of reef damaged by bleaching and anchoring. Guests can dive the Biorock sites and see the dramatic before-and-after difference. Fun dives cost IDR 500,000 for two tanks, with discounts for multi-day packages. The Open Water course is IDR 5,500,000 for 3 days, and the Advanced Open Water IDR 4,500,000 for 2 days. Nitrox is available for certified divers. The dive center also offers freediving courses through their partner school. The staff are multilingual and the dive briefings are thorough without being tedious. The center has its own waterfront restaurant where post-dive debriefs happen over excellent food. Genuinely one of the best dive operations in all of Indonesia.
