Dive Zone Gili Air

Budget-friendly PADI center with Korean and Japanese staff

Dive Zone is a well-established dive center on Gili Air that has built a strong reputation among Korean and Japanese travelers — the owners speak fluent Korean and Japanese, making it one of the only dive shops in the Gilis that offers instruction in these languages. This alone makes it invaluable for the growing number of Korean and Japanese divers visiting the Gilis who prefer instruction in their native language for safety and comfort. Beyond the language advantage, Dive Zone delivers solid dive experiences at competitive prices. Fun dives cost IDR 450,000 for two tanks — among the most affordable on Gili Air. The PADI Open Water course is IDR 5,000,000, and they run an intensive 2-day version for travelers short on time. Equipment is well-maintained Scubapro gear. Group sizes stay at 4:1 for fun dives. The dive sites around Gili Air are excellent: Shark Point, where reef sharks cruise along the wall; Hans Reef, with its incredible macro life; and Turtle Heaven, where green sea turtles rest on coral bommies. The center has a relaxed atmosphere with a comfortable lounge area where divers review underwater photos and plan their next sessions. They also offer a package deal that includes accommodation at their partner guesthouse — 3 nights plus Open Water course for IDR 6,500,000, which is excellent value. Snorkeling trips for non-diving companions can be arranged. Located near the harbor on Gili Air's south side. Cash preferred, but cards accepted with a 3% surcharge.
