Tanjung Bloam
VerifiedEast Lombok's hidden cliff-framed beach
Tanjung Bloam is one of East Lombok's best-kept secrets — a stunning stretch of white sand beach framed by dramatic limestone cliffs and lush green hillsides. The beach sees very few visitors, even during peak season, which means you might have the entire place to yourself on a weekday. The water is crystal clear with excellent visibility for snorkeling, and the reef just offshore is home to colorful tropical fish and healthy coral formations. Getting here requires a bit of effort: the last stretch of road from the main highway is unpaved and can be rough, especially during wet season. A motorbike or 4WD vehicle is recommended. There are no facilities at the beach itself — no warungs, no toilet, no shade structures — so bring everything you need including water, snacks, sunscreen, and an umbrella or shade cover. The nearest village, Ekas, has a few small shops where you can stock up. The drive from Kuta takes approximately 90 minutes via the southern coastal road. Despite the remoteness, the beach is safe for swimming in the sheltered bay area. The cliffs offer some incredible photo opportunities, particularly during golden hour. This is a true off-the-beaten-path destination that rewards the effort to reach it.
