Senggigi Beach
VerifiedLombok's most accessible sunset beach
Senggigi Beach is the main beach along Lombok's developed west coast strip, and for good reason — the sunsets here are absolutely spectacular, with the silhouette of Bali's Mount Agung framing the horizon in orange and purple hues every evening. The beach stretches for several kilometers, with the best swimming section near the main Senggigi strip where the water is calm and the sand is a mix of grey and golden grains. Unlike the south coast beaches, Senggigi rarely gets big waves, making it safe for families and casual swimmers year-round. The beachfront is lined with hotels, restaurants, and bars, so you never have to walk far for a cold Bintang or a plate of mie goreng. Sunbed rental from local vendors costs around IDR 25,000-50,000 for the day. Snorkeling is possible near the rocky points at either end of the beach, where you can spot small reef fish and occasional sea turtles. The famous Batu Bolong temple sits on a rocky outcrop at the southern end — a Hindu temple dramatically perched over the sea that makes for incredible photos, especially at sunset. Grab or Gojek are not available here yet, but local transport is easy to find along the main road. The beach is free to access and there is ample parking nearby.
