Nipah Beach
VerifiedSekotong's tranquil bay with Secret Gili views
Nipah Beach sits along Sekotong's beautiful southwest coastline, offering calm turquoise waters and panoramic views of the Secret Gili islands dotting the horizon. The beach is a long, gently curving stretch of golden sand bordered by coconut palms, with water shallow enough to wade far out during low tide. This area is developing slowly and still feels genuinely remote and untouched compared to Lombok's more popular beaches. A handful of small resorts and guesthouses have set up along the beach, offering simple accommodation from IDR 300,000 per night. Local boat operators can take you on snorkeling trips to the nearby Secret Gilis — Gili Nanggu, Gili Sudak, and Gili Kedis — for around IDR 300,000-500,000 per person including snorkeling gear. The snorkeling around these small islands is some of Lombok's best, with pristine coral and abundant marine life. Nipah Beach itself is best for relaxing, swimming, and watching spectacular sunsets. The drive from Kuta takes about 90 minutes via Mataram, or two hours on the direct coastal road which is scenic but slow. Bring cash as there are no ATMs nearby.
