LOP airport to the Gili Islands takes 2.5–3 hours total: 90-minute drive to Teluk Nare + 15-minute speedboat, total around 500,000 IDR per person for a pair. Same-day transfer from an arrival flight works for flights landing before 3pm. Later arrivals should overnight in Senggigi and continue to the Gilis the next morning.

# LOP Airport to Gili Islands: The Arrival Day Journey
Moving from LOP airport directly to the Gili Islands on the same day as your flight is feasible but requires careful timing. The total journey is 2.5–3 hours door-to-door (boat to island), which stacks on top of your flight time plus immigration and luggage collection.
For the Teluk Nare speedboat route (recommended), the last reliable boats to the Gilis run until about 4pm. Working backwards:
So for comfortable same-day arrival at a Gili, your flight should land by 12pm at the latest. Flights landing between 12pm and 3pm work but require tight transfers. Flights landing after 3pm should overnight on Lombok and make the Gili crossing the next morning.
This is not the journey to wing. Before arriving in Lombok:
1. Book a Kuta/Senggigi-based driver who will meet you at LOP and take you to Teluk Nare (specify the destination Gili — Trawangan, Air, or Meno)
2. Pre-arrange Gili accommodation so you arrive at a known dock destination
3. Have both the driver's WhatsApp and the ferry operator's contact in your phone
Your driver will have your name on a sign at arrivals. They'll know the route, know to go to Teluk Nare specifically, and know which boat kiosk services your target Gili. Total driver cost is 350,000–450,000 IDR.
The Bangsal route saves about 100,000 IDR but introduces:
On a flight-arrival day, predictability matters more than 100,000 IDR savings. Use Teluk Nare.
You exit LOP, meet your driver, drive 90 minutes north, arrive at Teluk Nare, walk to the ticket kiosk, buy your speedboat ticket, wait 10–20 minutes, board, cross in 15 minutes, disembark at your Gili. Total is 2–2.5 hours from LOP exit to Gili arrival.
From the Gili dock, walk or catch a horse cart (50,000 IDR) to your accommodation. By the time you're checking in, you've been in transit for 4–6 hours — plan for a chill first afternoon on the beach rather than an active plan.
