LOP airport-based, fixed routes only
★ 4.0(156 reviews)
Damri (and similar Kuras) public shuttle buses connect LOP Lombok airport with Mataram, Senggigi, and Bangsal Harbor at fixed budget pricing — 50-80k IDR per seat depending on destination. Limited routes and infrequent schedule but the cheapest legitimate airport transport on Lombok. Best for solo budget backpackers without urgent connections.
# Damri / Kuras Public Shuttle: The Cheapest LOP Airport Transport
Damri is Indonesia's state-owned bus company that runs airport shuttle services at most major Indonesian airports including LOP (Lombok International). The service is the cheapest legitimate airport transport on Lombok — 50-80k IDR per seat to major hubs, vs 200-350k for a private taxi or 250-400k for the airport taxi cartel.
For solo budget backpackers without urgent connections, this is the genuine choice. For most other travelers, the limitations make a pre-booked private transfer worth the extra cost.
From LOP airport (per seat, one-way):
Pricing is set and posted at the Damri counter. No haggling, no surge.
To Mataram: approximately 5am, 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm
To Senggigi: approximately 6am, 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm
To Bangsal: 2-3 daily, less reliable schedule
To Lembar / Kuta Lombok: less frequent, sometimes only morning departures
Schedules vary by season and demand. Confirm at the Damri counter in arrivals hall.
1. Exit baggage claim at LOP airport
2. Walk to the Damri counter in the arrivals hall (signed in English and Indonesian)
3. Buy ticket for your destination — cash only, small bills appreciated
4. Wait at the bus parking area (counter staff will direct you)
5. Board the bus when it departs (your ticket has the departure time)
6. Disembark at the terminal (not your hotel — see "drop-off limitations" below)
7. Take Grab/local taxi from the terminal to your final destination
Total time from airport landing to terminal arrival: 90 minutes to 2 hours including wait time.
This is the key disadvantage of Damri shuttle: it drops you at the central terminal in Mataram or Senggigi, not at your specific hotel.
Mataram terminal (Mandalika): Located in central Mataram. From here, take Grab/Gojek to your hotel (10-30k IDR) or local taxi (50-80k IDR).
Senggigi terminal: Located near the Senggigi market area. From here, walk if your hotel is close (some are 5-10 minutes), or take a local "ojek" (motorbike taxi) for 15-25k IDR, or Grab if available (10-20k IDR).
Bangsal Harbor: The drop-off is near the harbor area, walking distance to the boat ticket booth.
The total Damri + onward transport cost is typically 80-130k IDR per person — still much cheaper than 350k+ for a direct private transfer.
Damri buses don't run after 9pm. If your flight lands at 11pm or later (some international connections do), Damri is not an option. You'll need to use the airport taxi desk (overpriced), Grab (sometimes works at LOP), or a pre-booked private transfer.
This is a significant limitation for late-night arrivals — book a private transfer in advance instead of hoping Damri will be available.
| Method | Cost (LOP to Senggigi) | Time | Convenience |
|--------|----------------------|------|-------------|
| Damri public shuttle | 70-80k + 15-25k onward | 2-2.5h with wait | Low (terminal only) |
| Grab private | 180-220k | 1.5h | Medium (sometimes unavailable) |
| Pre-booked private transfer | 350k | 1.5h direct | High (door to door) |
| Airport taxi cartel | 600k | 1.5h | Easy but overpriced |
For solo backpackers with time and tolerance for inconvenience: Damri.
For couples and families with luggage: pre-booked private transfer.
For mid-priority travelers: Grab if available.
Damri counter staff speak limited English. Bring a translator app or have your destination written in Indonesian:
Numbers and counting are universal enough to figure out pricing. Cash payment is straightforward.
Damri schedules are generally reliable but sometimes change without notice. Buses occasionally don't depart on schedule due to maintenance or low demand. Confirm at the counter when you arrive — don't trust online schedules without verification.
If your scheduled bus doesn't arrive within 30 minutes of departure time, ask the counter staff. They'll either confirm a delay or suggest alternative transport.
Don't use Damri if:
1. Your flight lands after 8pm (services wind down)
2. You have heavy luggage you don't want to manage at terminals
3. Your hotel is far from the central drop-off points
4. Your group is 3+ people (private transfer becomes per-person comparable)
5. You have time pressure (waits and onward transfer add 30-90 minutes)
Solo backpackers with budget priority, travelers with time flexibility and light luggage, anyone arriving on a daytime flight comfortable with figuring out onward transport, and Indonesia veterans familiar with public transport patterns. Skip for families, late-night arrivals, anyone with heavy luggage, and travelers who value time over money.
