Sunglasses — the strongest category:

• Oakley — Holbrook, Latch, Frogskins. 1.2–2M IDR.
• Smith — Lowdown, Highwater. 1–1.8M IDR.
• Costa — polarized for fishing/sun glare. 1.5–2.5M IDR.
• Local brand polarized — 400–800k IDR (decent value).

Indonesia has a real counterfeit problem with branded surf apparel — Bali markets are full of fake Quiksilver and Rip Curl. Surfer Paradise stocks authentic distributor product. Verification:

• Hologram tags on Oakley, Smith, and Costa sunglasses.
• Authorized dealer signage for major brands.
• Standard Indonesian retail pricing (not "too cheap to be real" pricing).
• Receipt and warranty card issued for sunglasses and watches.

If a price feels suspiciously low compared to international retail, it's probably counterfeit. Surfer Paradise's prices are in the standard Indonesian retail band.

Indonesian retail prices for branded surf apparel run 30–50% above European or US sale prices. A pair of Rip Curl board shorts that's 60 USD on sale at home is 700k IDR (~45 USD) here. Sunglasses are similar. This is the cost structure of importing branded goods through Indonesian distribution — unavoidable, just useful to know.

If you bought your travel apparel before flying out, you'll find Surfer Paradise expensive. If you forgot something or want to buy a souvenir branded piece, prices are reasonable.

This isn't the place for:

• Surfboards — none stocked. Go to Kuta Surf Shop.
• Wax and surf accessories — limited. Go to Kuta Surf Shop.
• Cheap T-shirts and souvenirs — overpriced. Go to the night bazaar.
• Wetsuits — not stocked (water doesn't need them on Lombok).
• Repair services — none.

Location: Main Kuta strip, 100m east of Kuta Surf Shop on the same road. Air-conditioned interior with mirrored fitting rooms.

Hours: 9am to 10pm daily. Quietest in the morning before the surf crowd returns.

Payment: IDR cash, USD cash (daily rate), Visa/Mastercard (2% surcharge — lower than most Kuta shops).

Returns: Defective items can be exchanged within 7 days with receipt. No refunds, no returns on items that fit but you changed your mind.

Visit if you forgot proper sun gear, want a souvenir branded piece, need polarized sunglasses (the surfboard glare is intense), or want women's surf apparel that fits properly (rare on Lombok). Skip if you brought enough of your own gear or if budget shopping is the priority — branded retail isn't going to be cheap anywhere in Indonesia.
