Sea View Pool Villas (3,500,000–4,500,000 IDR) are upper-row units with proper ocean views from terraces. Beachfront Pool Villas (4,500,000–6,000,000 IDR) sit directly on the sand with the same plunge pool plus direct beach access.

For most couples, the Sea View Pool Villa is the sweet spot — proper view, pool privacy, and you walk 90 seconds to the beach itself. The Beachfront Pool Villas are gorgeous but pick up some pool deck and beach bar carry — fine for guests who'll be at the pool deck anyway, less ideal for early sleepers.

Sire is a near-perfect Gili-and-north-coast base. The Sire Beach itself is quiet with about 1.5km of sand shared by 4 properties — never crowded, good swimming, west-facing sunset.

The sunset position is the property's underrated strength. West-facing across the Bali strait, with Mount Agung visible on clear days (typically May–October). The beachfront infinity pool deck and the pool bar both work as sunset spots — most guests spend at least one cocktail hour here per day.

The Italian-Indonesian kitchen is better than the casual presentation suggests. The wood-fired pizza oven is properly run (pizzas 130,000–200,000 IDR), the pasta is fresh-made daily (mains 150,000–280,000 IDR), and the Indonesian section runs proper regional dishes including Lombok specialties (mains 130,000–220,000 IDR). Breakfast is included and generous, with proper coffee and a working egg station.

The spa runs five treatment rooms with a standard regional menu (700,000–1,500,000 IDR for 90 minutes). Quality is good without being a destination — book early in your stay because peak slots fill 24+ hours ahead.

The Gili boat charter operation from the resort beach is one of the underrated practical benefits — you can be at Gili Air or Gili Trawangan in 35 minutes without going through Bangsal harbour's chaos. Charter pricing 2,500,000–3,500,000 IDR return for up to 6 guests for half a day.

The honest constraints. Marina Del Ray sits between Tugu Lombok and Anema Wellness, both of which have stronger design identity and brand recognition. Marina Del Ray's design is competent but doesn't have the same distinctive character — if visual storytelling matters to you, the neighbours win. Sire Beach narrows considerably at high tide, leaving limited sand strip during peak hours; the pool deck remains usable. Some older villas are due refurbishment — request a recently-refurbished villa at booking. Wi-Fi reaches the main building reliably but degrades in villas furthest from it.

Book Marina Del Ray for couples who want pool-villa luxury on Sire Beach at lower-than-Tugu pricing, for travellers prioritising practical Gili access from a quiet beachfront base, for honeymoons that don't need the theatricality of Tugu's design, and for return Lombok visitors who already know Tugu and want a different villa next door.

Skip Marina Del Ray if Tugu Lombok's design and atmosphere specifically matter to you (book Tugu instead), if you want a serious wellness focus (book Anema next door), if you want walkable off-resort dining variety (book Senggigi properties), or if your trip centres on Kuta and the south coast — you're 100 minutes too far north.
