★ 4.1(980 reviews)
Mandalika Beach Hotel is a 38-room mid-range hotel set one block back from Kuta Lombok's main beach, with a large central swimming pool, on-site restaurant, and a 5-minute walk to the beach itself. Rooms run 700,000–1,400,000 IDR per night. It's one of the better-priced mid-range hotels in Kuta Lombok and a practical base for surfers and Mandalika visitors who want comfort without resort prices.
# Mandalika Beach Hotel Kuta Lombok: Mid-Range Pool Base in the Village
Mandalika Beach Hotel is one of a small group of mid-range hotels in central Kuta Lombok village — properties that sit in the comfort gap between the cheap surf-bungalow guesthouses and the four- and five-star Mandalika resorts further along the coast.
The hotel opened in 2018 as an Indonesian-owned independent property and has been steadily refurbished since. It targets the mid-range gap that Kuta Lombok's accommodation market under-serves — guests who want hotel-grade rooms with a real pool and air-conditioning but don't want to pay 3,000,000+ IDR for the resort options at Pullman Mandalika or Novotel.
Three categories. Standard Rooms are the entry option (700,000–950,000 IDR) — compact air-conditioned rooms with one queen or twin beds, set in the back of the property. Superior Rooms are larger with private balconies overlooking the pool (950,000–1,200,000 IDR). Family Rooms have two queen beds and fit four (1,200,000–1,400,000 IDR).
For couples on 2–4 night stays, the Superior Rooms are the obvious choice — meaningfully more space and a balcony onto the pool for negligible extra cost. For families or groups of three, the Family Rooms are good value compared to booking two Standard Rooms.
Mandalika Beach Hotel is in central Kuta Lombok village, about 5 minutes on foot from Kuta Beach itself and 10 minutes' walk from most of the village's restaurants, surf shops, and bars. The property is one block back from the main coast road, which means slightly less street noise than the front-row hotels but still walkable to everything.
For Mandalika circuit visits (MotoGP weekends, race events) the hotel is a 10-minute scooter or 5-minute Grab ride from the gates. For other beaches: Tanjung Aan is 10 minutes by scooter, Seger Beach 7 minutes, Mawun 25 minutes, Selong Belanak 35 minutes.
The pool is the property's strongest feature — large, free-form, well-maintained, with a sun terrace and pool bar. After a morning surf session, the pool is a genuinely useful amenity for cooling down before lunch. Pool sun loungers are plentiful and you don't need to claim them at sunrise.
Rooms are clean, modern, and well-equipped: strong air-con, hot showers, in-room safes, decent Wi-Fi, comfortable mid-range beds. Standard Rooms are compact (around 22 sqm) but functional. Superior Rooms add 4–6 sqm and a balcony — the practical difference is meaningful.
The on-site restaurant is open all day with breakfast included for guests. The menu runs Indonesian classics (nasi goreng, mie goreng, gado-gado) and Western basics (burgers, sandwiches, pasta) at mains 60,000–150,000 IDR — village-level pricing in a hotel setting. Most guests do breakfast at the hotel and dinner in Kuta village for variety.
Surfer infrastructure is good for the price bracket. Board storage racks at the back of the property, a rinse area for boards and wetsuits, and the kitchen opens at 6am for dawn-patrol breakfast (eggs, toast, coffee). The hotel can arrange transfers to surf spots that aren't walkable from Kuta (Mawi, Are Guling, Selong Belanak) at 250,000–400,000 IDR per car.
The location's downsides are about being in Kuta village. Weekend nights can be noisy (until midnight or so) — front rooms get street sound, back rooms are noticeably quieter. Wi-Fi is functional for email and Zoom but not fast for video streaming.
Service is friendly and consistent. English is spoken by all front-of-house staff. The concierge handles surf transfers, scooter rental (150,000 IDR/day from a partner shop), and Mandalika circuit logistics.
Book here if you want a mid-range pool hotel in central Kuta Lombok at genuinely fair pricing, you're a surfer or beach-day visitor who wants comfort without resort prices, and you're happy walking 5 minutes to the beach. Strong for couples on surf trips, MotoGP visitors, and groups of friends doing the South Lombok circuit.
Skip if you want beachfront (look at Novotel Lombok Kuta or the Mandalika resort options), if you need very fast Wi-Fi for remote work, or if you want a quiet honeymoon (Selong Selo or Jiwa Jiwa Villa do quiet much better).
