PADI Open Water at Villa Ombak runs over 3 days with the standard 5 dives. Group sizes typically run 4 per divemaster, with smaller ratios in shoulder season. The pacing is moderate — designed to suit resort guests who want diving as part of a relaxed holiday rather than an intensive certification push.

Advanced Open Water is similarly paced. The shop offers a strong elective range including Underwater Photography (cameras available for rent), Wreck (Bounty wreck off Meno), Underwater Naturalist, and Peak Performance Buoyancy.

Where Villa Ombak genuinely stands out is the higher-tier course range. Rescue Diver and Emergency First Response courses run regularly. Divemaster internships are offered with structured 6–8 week programs. PADI Reactivate (the refresher for divers who haven't been in the water in 6+ months) is a small but useful niche they handle well.

Three custom dive boats with hard tops, shaded surface intervals, and proper kit-up benches. Departures at 8:30am, 11am, and 2pm with site selection following standard Gili rotation. The weakness is standalone competitiveness. Villa Ombak's premium pricing is largely justified by the resort convenience layer that non-guests don't fully benefit from.

Book them if you're an older diver or travelling with mobility considerations and want resort-grade accessibility. Book them if you're returning to diving after a long layoff and want the structured PADI Reactivate program.

Skip Villa Ombak if you're staying at a non-affiliated hotel and want best price-to-quality ratio. Skip them if you want boutique technique-focused instruction. Skip them if you're a budget traveller — there are cheaper Gili T options without meaningful safety compromise.
