PADI Open Water at 3W typically runs over 3–4 days with the standard 5 dives, but with class sizes of 1–2 students at a time. The pacing follows student need rather than a fixed schedule, and the same instructor leads every dive — no rotation between staff.

For students who learn best with one-on-one instruction, this is genuinely valuable. Skill demos can be repeated as needed, questions get full answers, and the instructor knows your particular weak spots after the first dive. For students who prefer the social energy of a group class, this can feel intense or isolating.

Advanced Open Water is paced similarly. Refresher courses (for divers returning after long layoff) are particularly well-handled — the one-on-one ratio and patient pacing make this an ideal shop for resuming diving after a multi-year break.

One custom dive boat with hard top, fresh water rinse buckets, and proper kit-up benches. Two departures daily — 8:30am and 1:30pm. The house reef directly off the shop's beachfront is also dive-accessible from shore for certified divers — a useful option for early morning or late afternoon dives outside the standard boat schedule. Air fills are available at standard rates.

Rental gear is well-maintained and on a 3-year rotation. BCDs and regulators are mostly Mares; computers are basic Suunto Zoop models. If you have your own gear, the shop accommodates personal kit without the upsell some shops attempt.

The instructor approach emphasizes buoyancy, breathing rhythm, and reef awareness over fast skill ticking. This produces divers who actually understand what they're doing rather than students who just got the certification card.

Two-tank fun dive runs 1 million IDR (≈$64), mid-market for Gili Air. Open Water is 5 million IDR. Advanced is 4.5 million IDR. Refresher (1 dive with skills review) is 1 million IDR.

Multi-day fun dive packages get a 10% discount for 5+ dives. The pricing is mid-market — you're not paying boutique premium, but the small-group experience you get for the price is genuinely better than what mid-market typically delivers.
