Warung Bule

Verified

Senggigi's favorite casual Western-Indonesian eatery

Warung Bule has been a Senggigi fixture for years, loved by both long-stay expats and passing tourists for its reliable combination of Indonesian classics and Western comfort food at honest prices. The name is a playful nod — "bule" is Indonesian slang for foreigner, and the warung was started by a Dutch-Indonesian couple who wanted to bridge both cuisines. The nasi campur is excellent and generous, the club sandwiches are proper, and the chicken schnitzel has developed a devoted following. What really sets Warung Bule apart is the value: you can eat a full meal with a drink for under IDR 60,000, which is remarkable for the quality. The space is simple but clean, with open-air seating on a covered terrace overlooking the Senggigi street scene. They serve cold Bintang and basic cocktails. Breakfast is available from 8am and is a great way to start the day — the Indonesian breakfast plate with nasi goreng, a fried egg, and sambal is only IDR 25,000. Service is friendly and efficient. The menu has pictures, which helps when the language barrier kicks in. Located right on the main Senggigi strip, it is within walking distance of most hotels. No reservations needed. They close around 10pm most nights.
