The Bus

The Bus is exactly what it sounds like — a converted vintage bus parked on the roadside in Kuta that has been transformed into one of the most character-filled eating spots in South Lombok. The menu focuses on burgers, wraps, and comfort food done well, served through the bus windows with a side of hipster charm. The burgers are genuinely among the best in the area, with hand-formed patties, proper brioche buns, and creative toppings like Sasak sambal, local cheese, and caramelized onion. They also do excellent cocktails and have a decent beer selection. The seating area is a mix of outdoor tables around the bus and cushioned lounging areas with fairy lights — it becomes particularly atmospheric in the evening. Prices are mid-range: burgers IDR 55,000-75,000, cocktails IDR 50,000-70,000. The portions are satisfying. WiFi is available but unreliable. The vibe attracts a young, international crowd of surfers and backpackers. Live music happens occasionally on weekend evenings. Service is casual and friendly.
