Milk Espresso

Verified

Kuta's go-to specialty coffee and brunch spot

Milk Espresso has become the de facto living room for Kuta Lombok's digital nomad community, and it is easy to see why. The coffee is genuinely excellent — they source beans from Lombok's own highland farms and the baristas know what they are doing with both espresso and pour-over. The brunch menu goes well beyond the usual banana pancake circuit: think smashed avocado on sourdough, acai bowls loaded with fresh tropical fruit, and eggs Benedict that would hold up in any Melbourne cafe. Lunch options include solid burgers, grain bowls, and a rotating daily special that usually features local ingredients with an international twist. The space itself is bright and airy with plenty of power outlets, making it popular with laptop workers — but it never feels unwelcoming to non-workers. WiFi is reliable at 15-20 Mbps, which is fast by Kuta standards. Prices are on the higher end for the area but still reasonable: coffees IDR 30,000-45,000, main meals IDR 55,000-85,000. The fresh juices and smoothie bowls are particularly good. Service can be slow when busy, especially around 9-11am weekend brunch rush. No reservations needed on weekdays. There is limited parking for motorbikes out front. They also sell bags of their house-blend beans to take home.
