Gili Meno's sunset lounge with bean bags on the beach

Chill Out is Gili Meno's most popular sunset gathering spot — a relaxed beach bar on the west coast where colorful bean bags are scattered across the sand, cold Bintang flows freely, and the sunsets are absolutely spectacular. The concept is simple and perfectly suited to Gili Meno's pace: find a bean bag, order a drink, and watch the sky explode in orange and purple as the sun drops behind the Lombok Strait. The food is secondary to the atmosphere but better than you might expect from a beach bar: the grilled fish with sambal matah (Balinese raw sambal with lemongrass and shallots) is excellent, the spring rolls are crispy and properly filled, and the Gili-standard nasi goreng is above average. Portions are generous. The cocktail menu includes frozen margaritas, mojitos, and a potent rum punch made with young coconut water. Prices are standard for the Gilis: mains IDR 50,000-80,000, beers IDR 35,000-45,000, cocktails IDR 60,000-80,000. As Gili Meno's closest thing to a social scene, this is where the island's guests converge each evening — couples on honeymoon, divers swapping stories, and backpackers extending their stay by another night. The bar occasionally hosts acoustic music sessions. No shoes required. Cash only. Open from noon until the last person leaves, which on quiet nights can be surprisingly early.
